Alternate Internet Access

We have received confirmation from the New Hampshire Commissioner of Education that Comcast has opened Xfinity WiFi hotspots to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers.  

Important highlights direct from Comcast include:

  1. Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser. 
  2. Comcast is offering Internet Essentials to qualified low-income households, who currently lack broadband at home, free for 60 days.   This broadband service will include a modem and wifi router mailed to customers' homes as a self-install kit. There will be no shipping and handling fees, no credit check and no installation fees.   To sign up, applicants can simply visit
  3. No Disconnects or Late Fees: Comcast will not disconnect a customer’s internet service or assess late fees if they contact Comcast and let them know that they can’t pay their bills during this period.

Adjusted Building/SAU Hours

In accordance with CDC and state recommendations for social distancing, we will be closing all school offices, the SAU office, as well as school facilities (playgrounds, fields, auditoriums, etc.). you have a building-based question during this time, our office staff will periodically check voicemails throughout the hours of 8:00am-2:15pm each day.

School, Local, and State Communication

Governor Sununu publicly announced all schools in New Hampshire are to be closed through the end of the school-year due to COVID-19 concerns.  

We will continue to remain in contact with our community on our plan for remote learning and how it will be implemented. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work through this evolving situation.

Our school administrative team has an ongoing partnership with our town officials regarding this situation.  We have also had direct contact with the NH Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS) to give us guidance on the appropriate protocols to follow.  We will continue to partner with these groups and take our lead from their direction and guidance.

We have recently set-up a dedicated email address and phone number for our community.  The phone number/email address are to be used only for concerns regarding recent travel, upcoming travel, and to report illnesses or absentees associated directly with COVID-19.  If your student is out for any other reason, please continue to use your school’s dedicated absentee report process.

Building/Bus: Cleaning and Sanitize Plan

Our Facilities Department will continue to conduct deep-cleaning and disinfecting at all schools. The current disinfectant that our district uses is proven to kill the bacteria virus COVID-19 as well as other common bacterias and viruses. Our bus company has confirmed that disinfecting and sanitizing takes place multiple times throughout week.

Upcoming school sanctioned trips or events

In light of the evolving circumstances regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, all domestic and international field trips, which include day trips and over-night trips, have been canceled indefinitely.  If you have specific questions about your student’s upcoming field trip, please contact your school principal directly.  At this time, all school-based afternoon/evening activities and events will continue as scheduled.

Nutrition Services

To support families through the school closure, Windham Nutrition Services will be providing meals twice a week starting Wednesday, 3/18/20. To expedite the pickup process we are asking parents to have students present and post Last Name of student and 4 digit serving/pin number on the passenger side of the vehicle as they pull up to pick up location at Windham High School.

Additional information:

  • The District will provide pick-up services for breakfast and lunch for any students. All meals will be available for pick up at Windham High School from 11am-12pm on Monday and Wednesday. On Monday, you may purchase 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches. On Wednesday, you may purchase 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches.

Student/Staff Counseling Services

There is no doubt that our students have some questions about this situation. The most important thing that our students can know is that their health and safety is always our first priority whether they are at school or at home.  If any student should have additional questions during school hours, they are welcome to reach out and discuss their questions and concerns with their school guidance counselor.  Please see below for available resources:
